Tropical Storm Megi: 25 dead, 6 missing, Rescue efforts are underway

In most parts of the world, people suffering with severe heatstroke, while the Philippines is experiencing heavy rains. Extreme levels of flood danger were announced in many parts of the country including landslides. Heavy rains and landslides have killed 25 of people after tropical cyclone storm Megi swept through the southern and central areas of the Philippines.

A landslide in two villages in Central Littoral province killed at least 22 people and two others dead in the storm, officials said. Six others were reported missing. More than 30,000 people have been evacuated as floodwaters recede. Rescue efforts are still underway.

Hurricanes in the Philippines cause a lot of damage every year. While such natural disasters have been occurring since the beginning of June, some storms occur only on dry days.
