Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan will face the no-confidence motion. Voting will take place on April 9 in a no-confidence motion. However, the Supreme Court overturned the ruling.
According to international media reports, the Supreme Court has ruled that the decision by the National Assembly’s Deputy Speaker, Qasim Suri, to cancel the Astha vote was wrong. The court also ruled that the decision was a violation of Article 75 of the Pakistan Constitution.
The court upheld the verdict in the case. The five-judge bench, headed by Supreme Court Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, made the remarks. The apex court upheld the verdict. Security has been beefed up in the Supreme Court before the verdict was announced. “Pakistan’s economy is in a state of crisis right now,” he said. So a strong government is needed in the country.
