With the corona virus pandemic continuing to spread all over the world, it is very difficult to organize a sports event- Olympic. But with the help of IOC, Tokyo city selected for Olympic by the Japanese Olympic Committee on July 16, 2011 for the Olympic 2020 Games. On March 2011 Japan suffer with big natural calamities like earthquake and tsunami, which affected much of eastern Japan.

In Buenos Aires at the 125th IOC session on September 7, 2013, Tokyo won their bid to host the games. Now this game is continuing from its opening day on 23 July 2021. There are 11,090 athletes are participating in this sports festival from 205 nations. 339 in 33 sports with 50 disciplines events are there. It is started from 23 July 2021 and will be closed on 8 August 2021.

In the late 19th century first Olympic Games were started in ancient Greece. Olympic Games are an athletic festival or sports competition all over the world. There are mainly two types of Olympic occurs –Summer Olympic and Winter Olympic. These games are held every four years. But when a summer and winter games were held, they have been held on a staggered two-year schedule. The International Olympic Committee chooses the location of each Olympic Games. The Chief authority of a city, support of the National government gives application to the committee. As per the applications the committee recommended the name of a city for Olympic.

More than 200 countries are participating in Olympic. The International Olympic Committee is a non-governmental sports organization based in Lausanne, Switzerland. In 1894, it is constituted under Swiss Civil Code with articles 60 to 79 founded by Pierre de Coubertin and Demetrios Vikelas. To organizing the modern summer and winter Olympic Games the International Olympic Committee take the full responsibility. Association organized under the laws of the Swiss Confederation.
