Amazon forest is amazing. About 20 % of world’s Oxygen produces from Amazon rainforest.  Amazon forest is the world’s largest tropical rainforest & it covers 2,100,000 square miles, means 5,500.000 kilo miters. High amount of rainfall occurs in this area. It is an area of tall, mostly evergreen trees and a mud area. The size of the forest is like twice India or half the size of America. It is covering much of northwestern Brazil and extending into Colombia, Peru and other South American countries. 60 % of the rain forest contained in Brazil, 13 % in Peru followed by Colombia with 10 %. After that minor amount of forest are in Bolivia, Suriname Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana and Venezuela.

This forest helps to stabilize the world’s climate & maintains the water cycle of the world. It protect against flood, drought and erosion in naturally. Also provide home to many plants, animals, birds, reptile etc. From this forest we collect a huge amount of medicine plants. That’s why we can say it is a big source for medicines and foods. It also provides home and shelter as well as living occupations to the tribal. The most important part of the rainforest is that it exchanges oxygen and carbon dioxide in the world. The rainforest is the home to more than 30 million people as well as 10 % of the world’s Biodiversity.

Due to global reduction of tropical temperatures, the Atlantic Ocean had widened sufficiently to provide a warm, moist climate to the Amazon basin. Continuously this process creates a hot and humid environment. The nutrients present in organic matter are cycled out of the soil and into growing vegetation extremely rapidly.  In this process the Amazon rain forest appears. People lived in the Amazon and effectively cultivate crops and farmed it to make it more productive for more than 8 thousand years.

But in 2020 the Amazon rainforest is in danger. It is due to forest fires and deforestation. Mostly clear land for cultivation, farming, logging, development and human expansion is the cause for its destruction. From this year’s fire season show increase deforestation in the biggest rainforest of the world. So there is a big climate change occur due to this deforestation problem. That’s why we have to plant more & more plantation to save our environment as well as ourselves.
